We offer all our customers 5 Star service and low student-instructor ratios, normally 4 to 1. All customers have their own sleeping space - no sharing cabins unless, of course, you want to ! Our 5 Star service extends to great food whilst on board, very well cleaned/maintained boats and no hidden extra costs. At Dart Harbour Sea School we care about YOU and what your requirements entail. In our sailing area, we don't have to race to our destination by 2 p.m. to guarantee a berth and the sailing instruction is given at a manageable, understandable pace.
Start Yachting
A two-day practical course. This is essentially an introduction to Sailing, a two-day course that covers basic boat handling, safety and rules of the road. The overall aim is to inspire the novice and build confidence while also allowing you to discover the joys of a new activity.
A great way to test the water, literally, and see if this sailing stuff is for you. If it is, then the first 2 days of this course can be counted towards your comp. crew course.
DURATION: 2 DAYS
This can be taught on your own boat or on our school boat.
Cost: £195 on our school boat, for the 2 days to include staying on the boat, food and wet weather gear. (no hidden extra costs-only getting to us!) Option to arrive at the boat the night before the course and settle in, at no extra cost
Competent Crew
As the course suggests, become proficient in sailing to shine as part of a crew. Covers boat handling, sail handling, knots and cordage, safety etc.
DURATION: 5 DAYS (OR 3 WEEKENDS)
Again, your boat or ours.
Cost: £495 on our school boat, for the 5 days to include staying on the boat, food, log book and wet weather gear. (no hidden extra costs-only getting to us!)
Day Skipper-Practical Sail
A comprehensive five-day course, predominantly practical the course provides the skills and background knowledge needed to be a competent sailor.

4 days RYA Day Skipper Shorebased course followed by 5 days practical course. Starts Thursday morning and concludes following Friday afternoon.
Special rates have been negotiated @ £25 per night Bed & Breakfast at a nearby hotel if you require accommodation during the shorebased element. You will be accommodated on one of our yachts from Sunday evening.

Own Boat Tuition
Available all year round, why not maximise your potential, and learn how to get the most out of your own boat. Our Instructor on your boat is only £200 per day.
Skippered Charter
A brilliant way for you and your family or friends to explore the River Dart or the spectacular coastline, discover hidden beaches catch a glimpse of the local wildlife including dolphins and seals. Sit back and relax or take the helm - the choice is yours and under the guidance of our fully qualified staff you will have a day to remember.
